MES MERIT AWARD 2023

MES M.K Mackar Pillay College for Advanced Studies, Edathala honoured the students who achieved top scores in the Higher Secondary Examinations in 2023 by various Examination Boards (State,CBSE,ICSE) on 17.06.2023. Mrs. Preeja Kunjumon, the President of Edathala Grama Panchayat, inaugurated the event. Adv. M M Salim, the Secretary & Correspondent of the College Managing Committee, presided over the function, and the Principal Dr. Murugan R, extended welcome to everyone present. 

The keynote address was delivered by Shri K M Leiyakath Alikhan, the President, MES Ernakulam District. Felicitations were given by college management leaders Mr. M A Abdulla,the Vice Chairman; Mr. P K A Jabbar,the Vice Chairman; Mr. C M Ashraf, the Joint Secretary; Mr. Abdul Nisar B H, the Joint Secretary; Mrs. Abida Sharif, Block Panchayat Member; Mr. Lagheesh V M, the Vice Principal and other political and social leaders. The Heads of Government Institutions in Edathala Grama Panchayat and other senior leaders of MES also attended the function.

Approximately 160 students from the panchayat and their parents participated in the ceremony. Following the award ceremony, Mr. S Suresh, Associate Director of the Vidyabharati Group of institutions and recipient of the Best Teacher Award (2018) from the Government of Kerala, lead career guidance classes.

Finally, Mr. Shijo Pathatan, faculty member from the English Department of the college, delivered the vote of thanks to the gathering.

On 27th June 2023, in connection with World Antidrug Day, the National Service Scheme (NSS) and College Antidrug Club organized a flash mob and an Anti -Drug oath ceremony. The event took place at Kunjattukara Government High School,  at  11:30 am. The primary aim of the program was to raise antidrug awareness among the students. Mr. M.P Ummer, Preventive Excise Officer ,  Aluva, had delivered Anti- Drug message and also took   an oath against Anti - Drug. The whole students of school were participated the program. During the flash mob, 18 students from various departments showcased their talents and performed to spread the message of antidrug awareness. The energetic performance captivated the audience and effectively conveyed the importance of leading a drug-free life. Yoga is the ancient way to attain physical, mental, and spiritual practice. Primarily originating in India, the word 'yoga' is derived from Sanskrit, meaning to unite. This unity signifies the ultimate union of the body with consciousness and thus attaining definitive peace. Recognizing the universal appeal of Yoga, on 11 December 2014, the United Nations proclaimed June 21 to be marked as the International Day of Yoga. Health & Yoga Club in association with National Service Scheme celebrated International Yoga Day to make awareness among the students regarding the benefits of practicing Yoga. Inauguration of Admission HELP DESK & Free CAP Registration Facility

Inauguration of Admission Help desk and Free CAP Registration Facility by Adv. M M Salim, Secretary & Correspondent, College Managing Committee. MES M.K Mackar Pillay College for Advanced studies, Edathala has initiated the facility for free registration for Centralised Allotment Process for UG and PG programmes of Mahatma Gandhi University,Kottayam.The Service, which provided a convenient way for students to apply for admission, was inaugurated on 29.05.2023 by Adv. M M salim, the Secretary & Correspondent, College Managing Committee in the presence of the Principal Dr. R Murugan; Mr. P K A Jabbar, the Vice Chairman; Mr. C M Ashraf, the Joint Secretary; Mr. V M Lagheesh, the Vice Principal; Mrs. Anu Varghese, Admission Nodal Officer and other faculty members.  This facility was made available on all working days from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm.
