Observation of Anti-Drug Day at Govt. High School, Kunjattukara.

On 27th June 2023, in connection with World Antidrug Day, the National Service Scheme (NSS) and College Antidrug Club organized a flash mob and an Anti -Drug oath ceremony. The event took place at Kunjattukara Government High School,  at  11:30 am. The primary aim of the program was to raise antidrug awareness among the students. Mr. M.P Ummer, Preventive Excise Officer ,  Aluva, had delivered Anti- Drug message and also took   an oath against Anti - Drug. The whole students of school were participated the program. During the flash mob, 18 students from various departments showcased their talents and performed to spread the message of antidrug awareness. The energetic performance captivated the audience and effectively conveyed the importance of leading a drug-free life. Yoga Day Celebrations - 2023

Yoga is the ancient way to attain physical, mental, and spiritual practice. Primarily originating in India, the word 'yoga' is derived from Sanskrit, meaning to unite. This unity signifies the ultimate union of the body with consciousness and thus attaining definitive peace. Recognizing the universal appeal of Yoga, on 11 December 2014, the United Nations proclaimed June 21 to be marked as the International Day of Yoga. Health & Yoga Club in association with National Service Scheme celebrated International Yoga Day to make awareness among the students regarding the benefits of practicing Yoga. News Reading Competition - as part of the National Reading Day Observation

  National Reading Day is observed by National Service Scheme on 19 th June 2023. The day marks the death anniversary of PN Panicker, who is famously known as the 'Father of the Library Movement' in Kerala.The objective behind celebrating this day is to encourage people all over the world to build a habit of reading books. NSS Unit organized News Reading Competition in association with Readers Forum at College Mini Auditorium. Eight students from various department were participated in the program. The winners are: 1.Tiya  Rodrigues, Second Year Msc Bio technology 2. Suhana Sakeer, Second Year BBA The objective of the competition was to  encourage students to improve their reading skills and enhance general awareness . It also gives them the feel of the world of media and journalism. In this competition, young minds proved their talent in pronunciation, clarity,fluency and exhibited their confidence .

Blood Donation Camp - Department of Biosciences

The Department of Biosciences in association with IMA, KOCHI conducted a BLOOD DONATION CAMP on 13/06/2023 at 10.00am in the college mini auditorium. Ms.Unnimaya M and Ms.Rajeena C A were the programme coordinators. 98 students were registered and 40 units of blood were successfully collected. IMA Medical Officer Dr.Salim.P.K, Adv.M.Ahamedkunju, Chairman, College Managing Committee; Adv.M.M.Salim, Secretary and Correspondent, College Managing Committee; Dr.Murugan.R, Principal; Mr.Lagheesh.V.M, Vice Principal; Ms.Krishna Raj, Head of Biosciences Department, and other faculty members from various departments were present.

Observation of "World Environment Day 2023"

The theme for World Environment Day on 5 th   June 2023 focused on the solutions to plastic pollution under the campaign ‘ Beat Plastic Pollution ’ . The world is being inundated by plastic. More than 400 million tonnes of plastic is produced every year, half of which is designed to be used only once. World Environment Day was observed in the campus by National Service Scheme. The College Managing Committee members; College Principal; Vice Principal; NSS Volunteers, faculty members and Students have participated actively. A brief message was given by Dr. Murugan R, the Principal, regarding the importance of planting trees to save our earth. Some fruit bearing trees were planted in the college and distributed among the students. The Program was inaugurated by Ms. Preeja Kunjumon, President of Edathala Grama Panchayath at Periyar Valley. Cleaning Campaign at Govt. High School, Kunjattukara

As a part of Cleanliness Drive, we are supposed to clean Govt H.S.S Kunjttukara. Clean environment in school contributes a healthy environment for the students to learn and also encourages a good workplace for the teachers, eventually helping the kids to grow in a motivating and nurturing atmosphere. NSS Unit of MES M.K Mackar Pillay College For Advanced Studies, Edathalaorganised a one day cleaning campaign at Govt H.S.S Kunjttukara on 19/05/2023. Mrs. Javani, Senior Teacher of schoolwelcomed all for the programme. Mrs. PreejaKunjumon, President of EdathalaGrama Panchayath inaugrated the session; Mrs. Hamsa, PTA President; Dr. Murugan R, College Principal; Lagheesh V. M, College Vice Principal; Sunitha K. The programme focuses on building capacities in governments and communities to manage waste more responsibly and scientifically. It also encourages responsible production and consumption of resources to minimize wastage .
