Observation of "World Environment Day 2023"
The theme for World Environment Day on 5th June 2023 focused on the solutions to
plastic pollution under the campaign ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’. The world is being inundated by plastic. More
than 400 million tonnes of plastic is produced every year, half of which is
designed to be used only once.
World Environment Day was observed in
the campus by National Service Scheme. The College Managing Committee members;
College Principal; Vice Principal; NSS Volunteers, faculty members and Students
have participated actively. A brief message was given by Dr. Murugan R, the Principal,
regarding the importance of planting trees to save our earth. Some fruit bearing
trees were planted in the college and distributed among the students.
The Program was inaugurated by Ms.
Preeja Kunjumon, President of Edathala Grama Panchayath at Periyar Valley.
Fifty quick growing trees were planted in the area by NSS students. Mr.Hamsa
N.K, School PTA President ; Mr. Ashraf C.M, College Joint Secretary; Mr. Abdul
sherif H.S, College Treasurer; NSS Programme officers; other teachers were
participated in the program.
We also celebrated World Environment Day at Govt H.S.S Kunjattukara. Smt. Jiji Mol K.P, Head Mistress, planted trees in the school. Mr. Hamsa N.K, School PTA President; Lagheesh V.M, College Vice Principal; other teachers and twenty NSS Volunteers were actively participated in the program. The day was a great success, and has certainly made a difference to the way we view our environment.
